Affliction Can’t Stand Against God’s Elect

Nobody can successfully afflict children of God who know where they stand in Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 says “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are”. The temple of God used to exist externally in a tabernacle and whoever defiled it was destroyed by God-“Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective firepans, and after putting fire in them, placed incense on it and offered strange fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. And fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD”-Leviticus 10:1-2. Today, the temple of God is within you and if anybody attempts to defiles you, the same God that destroyed those who attempted to defile the Old Testament temple has promised to destroy anybody that defiles the internal temple within you. But for this to be the case, you have to be have to know and know that you know that you are the temple of God. However, when you don’t know what you are meant to be carrying then you are not carrying it.
