Two Types of Sorrow

In 2 Corinthians 7:10 we learn that “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death”. The sorrow that comes over a person that makes them want to repent of their sins and turn a new leaf by accepting Jesus is from God. However, the sorrow that leads to regret and depression is not from God. It is of demonic origin. The intention of the demons behind that affliction is for the afflicted person to commit suicide. There is only one way to permanently deal with that situation-Turn to God through Christ Jesus. Jesus said “The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”-John 10:10. If a record is constantly playing in your head of all you have done wrong and all the opportunities you have missed, it is time to stop listening to yourself and start talking to yourself. Start by saying “God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”-2 Timothy 1:7.
